Minuteman defeat VIP

Minuteman Power Past VIP Hockey, 6–2, Behind Westerlund and Doyle’s Two-Goal Efforts
October 27, 2025 – Portland, Maine
The Minuteman put together a commanding performance Sunday night, skating past VIP Hockey 6–2 in a game defined by balanced scoring and strong two-way play.
From the drop of the puck, Minuteman controlled the tempo. Emil Westerlund opened the scoring midway through the first period at 7:36, finishing off a setup from William Dewsnap to make it 1–0. Less than a minute later, Antonio Naranja doubled the lead with help from Niko Oranje, giving Minuteman a quick 2–0 advantage heading into intermission.
The second period was all Minuteman, as they extended their lead to 5–0 with a relentless offensive surge. Quinn Doyle struck first at 4:58 with an unassisted tally, followed by Curtis Petit converting off a feed from Naranja just over a minute later. Westerlund then netted his second of the night, again assisted by Dewsnap, capping a three-goal outburst.
VIP Hockey finally broke through late in the frame when defenseman Bruce Tuttle ripped one home at 1:04 to cut the deficit to 5–1.
Tuttle continued to lead the charge in the third, scoring again at 11:48 to make it 5–2 and give VIP a spark. However, any hopes of a comeback were dashed when Doyle sealed the win with his second goal of the game, an empty-netter with just 14 seconds left.
Minuteman outshot VIP Hockey 37–32, keeping steady pressure on the opposing netminder throughout. Westerlund (2G, 0A) and Doyle (2G, 0A) paced the Minuteman offense, while Dewsnap quietly contributed two assists. Tuttle’s two goals were a bright spot for VIP Hockey in the loss.
The game saw only two penalties — both against VIP Hockey — including a bench minor for too many men and a holding call on Jacob Johnson.
With the win, Minuteman continue to build momentum, showing depth and discipline in all three zones. VIP Hockey, meanwhile, will look to regroup and tighten up defensively before their next matchup.
