Hanley's Hat Trick Powers VIP past Majors

Hanley Hat Trick Powers VIP Hockey Past PIAS Majors, 9–4
VIP dominates early and never looks back in high-scoring matchup
VIP Hockey put together a dominant performance on both ends of the ice, cruising to a 9–4 victory over the PIAS Majors in a fast-paced matchup that saw offense take center stage.
VIP struck early and often, with Trent Hoffman-Johnson opening the scoring midway through the first period. Dan Hanley followed shortly after to make it 2–0 before Sean Macdonald got the Majors on the board. However, VIP quickly regained control as Jacob Johnson scored twice late in the frame—one assisted by Derek Hengstenberg—sending VIP to the intermission with a commanding 4–1 lead.
The second period continued much the same way. Hanley netted his second of the night to extend the lead, followed by goals from Ford Bohrmann and Hoffman-Johnson as VIP’s offense kept rolling. Elliot Bates gave PIAS a brief spark with a late goal, but Hanley responded just seconds later to complete his hat trick and make it 8–2 heading into the third.
The Majors showed some fight in the final frame, led by Macdonald, who completed his hat trick with a pair of goals to narrow the gap. Still, Bruce Tuttle added another for VIP to put the game out of reach and secure the 9–4 win.
Despite being outshot 33–28, VIP made the most of their chances with clinical finishing and strong team play. Hanley’s three goals and consistent offensive pressure set the tone for VIP, while Macdonald’s hat trick was a bright spot for the Majors. The game saw only one penalty—Hanley’s minor for hooking late in the third period—as both teams kept the pace high and the whistles minimal.
With the win, VIP Hockey continues to showcase their depth and scoring balance, while PIAS will look to regroup after a tough outing despite a strong effort and shot advantage.
